Would You Sleep In A Floating Tent Hanging Off A Tree?

Can you imagine sleeping in a portaledge aka a floating freaking tent? It’s beyond scary. Look at it! You have to trust the tree branch, the rope attached to the tree branch, your weight and the material of the tent.

But this is a thing. Apparently, crazy people go to High Ropes Forest, Germany so they can sleep in these seemingly floating tents. I’m tripped out at how unreal these photos look, I mean, is this really possible? How do you even get inside a tent? How do you leave? How do you enjoy the company of your loved one? OK fine. If I set aside my questions (and my fears) for a second, I can say, there’s probably not a more picturesque place to rest your head. [Waldseilgarten via JayMug]

Looks fine to me.. if you were talking about hanging it over the side of a cliff, different story but it’s just up a tree. I would assume there’d be some kind of rope ladder to get in though the stability, much like getting into a small boat, would be questionable.

More likely a pulley system, I’m with LD though, I need to go at least once during the night, so this seems like a bit of a pain. Plus there is bound to be some dick that will piss over the side!

Oh and can the type font size get just a little bit smaller in these comment boxes, I’d like to be able to use my binoculars on it??

Going to the bathroom in the night becomes a lot more effort, or does it…
