The backlash over 3D has become so fervent that College Humor wonders if even 2D has become superfluous. So they put together a trailer for Transformers in 1-D that makes a very convincing case.
Not only can you skip the 3D glasses, but only having to concentrate on an infinitely thin strip of screen is going to make the theatre going experience a lot easier on your eyes. And to be perfectly honest, not only did I find the transforming sequences in this trailer a lot more satisfying than what Michael Bay’s team had created, I also think that a single dimension is perfectly suited for the depth of Shia Labeouf’s performance in those last three films. Thursday, November 3, 2011 at 1:31 PMGoing to the movies is ridiculously expensive thanks to 3D.
You go to Hoyts, they charge you $21 because its a 3D movie. Then an extra $3/4 if its on the ‘extreme’ screen, which from what I can tell makes zero difference to anything. Total rip off.

Thursday, November 3, 2011 at 9:37 PMYou know what’s a rip off? The movie industry as a whole. With what the industry charges cinemas, I usually don’t mind upsizing my popcorn.
