The Coolest Humanoid Robot Is Not Japanese But American

This is the new Petman, by our friends at Boston Dynamics, the creators of Big Dog and BigDog 2. It’s like a robotic marine that never gets tired. You tell him to give you a thousand and he’ll do it.

It was created to test chemical protection clothing for the US Army. It moves and balances itself like a real human — walking, crawling and “doing a variety of suit-stressing calisthenics during exposure to chemical warfare agents”. I wonder how much would it take to move it from testing clothes to the battlefield.

Yet more proof that intelligence does not equate to wisdom, and just because you can, does not necessarily mean you should.

We have to kill it. I’m not trying to be funny. Kill it and burn the place to the ground.
