The Series 7 may technically be business-focused, but it’s a gorgeous rig at a not-insane price point. Windows 8 may technically not be out yet, but all reports point to its being as refreshing and innovative as Windows Phone has been. That, combined with the heavy shrug that OS X Lion arrived with, has me thinking that this little bitty rumour might grow into my next PC purchase.
Too early to say, of course, and even if it weren’t we wouldn’t see an actual Windows 8 Series 7 until the second half of next year. Still, I’m clearing out some space on my 2012 Christmas list just in case. [Bloomberg]

Thursday, November 10, 2011 at 7:40 AMCould that laptop be any more of a blatant rip-off of a MacBook Air? The only differences I can spot are a Samsung label where MacBook Air label would normally go, a slightly thinner bezel and a different power button (I’m typing this on a MacBook Air).

Thursday, November 10, 2011 at 8:22 AMYeah, I can’t really tell. But by looking at those thngies with letters and numbers on them, and that uprighty blacky thingy that looks like a mini television, and that squarey finger touchy bit at the front; all of which I’ve never seen before on anything other than a MacBook Air, you’re right.

Thursday, November 10, 2011 at 8:43 AMWhat? Its a laptop, they all look exactly the same, except that a MacBook Air is tapered. This one doesn’t seem to be at all, which makes your comment stupid.

Thursday, November 10, 2011 at 10:00 AMMore refreshing and innovative than WP7 is a tech blogger not acting as if Microsoft ran over their dog. It’s also a genuine relief to hear someone calling Lion out for being the boring, buggy turkey that it is reguardless of the shiny distraction that it’s attached to.

Thursday, November 10, 2011 at 3:12 PMhow else can you have a laptop?
they will all look similar.
changing the position of the trackpad and keyboard could work.
but come on… a laptop is a laptop… unless they took a casting off the mac…
and mac’s aint that special anyways, just overpriced hyped up garbage.
