Purple Lightning And Death From Above In Afghanistan

This looks like it should be airbrushed onto the side of a really tacky t-shirt, but it’s actually quite real! An Air Force F-15E near Bagram Air Field, Afghanistan, illuminated by apocalyptic lightning.

It must be nerve-fraying enough to drop JDAMs on Taliban without, y’know, hitting the wrong thing. But skies like that? I’d be happy to be the photographer that day.

It’s a Demolition man thing; sometimes you need an old school fighter jet to bomb an old school enemy. lol.

F-14s have been retired, not the F-15s
