Mad Catz Just Made An Epic MMORPG Gaming Mouse

I haven’t diddled around Azeroth in a while, but let’s just say I know my way around a 25-man. And Mad Catz’s new Cyborg M.M.O.7. gaming mouse looks like it’s good enough to play at a pretty elite level.

The Cyborg M.M.O.7. is the not-so-distant cousin of the Cyborg R.A.T.7. Albino mouse, but it’s got some useful MMO-specific features. It has a total of 78 definable commands via 13 programmable buttons, a two-position shift button, and a cycling MMO Mode Switch that cycles through three separate button sets — think different stances, specs or the equivalent. It’s also got a custom World of Warcraft addon that lets you drag and drop from your spellbook, and has profiles for the top MMOs that are pre-programmed with typical setups for those games.

It will be out next month, but there’s no official price just yet. [Mad Catz]

Again, yet another awesome mouse… for right-handed people only.

I’m left-handed but it would work for me. In fact, most left-handers I know mouse with their right hand, so the number of people who couldn’t use this is vanishingly small, I’d imagine.

Majority rules mate. Mass production lowers the cost for the majority of people.

Your parents should have spotted you favouring your left and corrected it early. Sure that’s a contraversial statement, but being a lefty is a disadvantage that can be avoided.

That said, an intelligently design product could allow use by all, thereby removing a restriciton on customer base and increasing sales.

I just bought the R.A.t. 9, still waiting via Amazon. My big problem is the size and shape of most gaming mice, I recently bought t a MS SideWinder X8 and I just can’t hold the bloody thing right! I’ve even tried modifying it with Sugru. which helps with the grip, but it’s just not a good shape for my hand. So I’m going to sell it modifications intact. Hopefully the RAT will be a big help. what with it’s size adjustments. I don’t need the plethora of extra buttons, they just get in the way for me.

Yes, dammit! I’d got over my lust for a R.A.T. 9 until I saw this yesterday. Last night I bought one on eBay. Got a good(ish) price – about $140 delivered. I won’t use most of the features but just seeing that on my table at home will make me feel good, so what the hell… Of course, my justification is that it will free up my Arc Touch for full-time use with my netbook, saving me the awful, onerous chore of unplugging and re-plugging the USB receiver.
