Lunchtime Deal: Free Xbox With Asus Laptops

Gizmodo AU

Harvey Norman’s latest bundling deal involves a free Xbox 360 with any Asus laptop over $700. There’s a fair range of models on offer, and while Harvey Norman’s prices aren’t always the sharpest in the market, you could always get the 360 and sell it off online to lower the total price. When shopping around for a new tv I found Harvey Norman to have the most unapproachable sales staff and also the second rudest after Domayne. …and Gerry Harvey and his views on competing with online sales cutting into his profit margin?meh

No matter how cool a deal this is I will never shop at Harvey Norman ever again.

I might be stating the obvious here, but Domayne is owned by Harvey Norman. Not surprised that the staff for both are terrible.

I had the same experience. They wanted to sell me what they wanted to sell me, and had no interest in negotiating or matching the price of other stores.

I went to the store that sold me the TV I wanted and competed well in price. Thanks Good Guys!

Someones either making a loss on this, or the markups are astronomical.

If I was there today I would be doing a quick Google price comparision on any of the Asus range.

Wouldnt be hard to make back $250+ for an Xbox Consoles. I would expect to smell some mark-up.

Good sale for all those kids that wanted a Laptop AND Xbox in the same Xmas this year though…
