Even as frustrated iPhone owners complain that Apple’s iOS 5.01 update didn’t actually fix the iPhone 4S’s battery problems, users are reporting a whole string of new complaints against the iPhone 4S and the new update. Will it ever stop?
Batterygate isn’t over and now a string of reports claim that users are experiencing performance issues aching for their own gate-based neologisms. We haven’t confirmed any reports of crappy reception (again?), erratic Wi-Fi performance and microphone problems, but if you’re having them please let us know. It appears that the issues are linked to the update and specifically to the iPhone 4S.

Saturday, November 12, 2011 at 4:12 PMGot one. Use every feature possible and find the battery great (for a smartphone).
Don’t doubt some people have real problems but I imagine it’s a vast minority.

Saturday, November 12, 2011 at 4:31 PMI’ve updated. Never had battery problems to begin with (mine is so much better than my old 3GS) but I have noticed my phone reception and Internet performance is a little worse than usual after the update. Not sure if that’s to do with Telstra, or the update though

Saturday, November 12, 2011 at 4:44 PMi have one. and must admit that since the new update i have been having wifi issues.. seems to drop out for a short while for no reason and only way to get it back on is to turn it on and off again in settings.. i have a developers licence and i must say i reported that to apple but it seems they haven’t fixed that.. the battery for me has always worked reasonably well however on the odd occasion it seems to drain quickly . other days it doesn’t so i have yet to work out what causes the drain and i have all location services switched off too so i don’t believe thats the cause.

Monday, November 14, 2011 at 9:16 AMI fully agree with you. I am a new IPhone 4GS User. The battery drains suddenly by more than 10% with in 30 minutes even when I am not using, and then it becomes normal again.

Saturday, November 12, 2011 at 6:51 PMI’m getting network issues. Invalid sim. SOS only. Have to swap back and forwards with wifes sim to get it to connect. Had the problem when i first got the phone but i figured it was because it had not registered with Apple. Once i did that all good until this upgrade. Next step new sim from optus and then if no joy off to Apple genius bar. Battery not as good as iphone 4 befor or after update to 5.01. Drains very quickly for the first 20% then ok for a while then drains quickly again.

Sunday, November 13, 2011 at 1:32 AMYes, for the first time ever I have had an iphone, i get SOS only while i have 3G and can still send texts and calls. After updating ios5 i found that the ipod app doesnt run as smooth as it used to and most apps now take 3 seconds longer to load. For the first 3 days it ran quite well. Now nah. See how this progresses

Sunday, November 13, 2011 at 8:00 AMTested battery life on my iPhone 4 (updated) vs my girlfriends new 4s (not updated) yestoday, we only spoke/SMSed each other the whole day, the battery drain was very similar, except mine was slightly worse, technically I should expect it to be slightly better considering she had no update at all.
I’ve not noticed any improvement to my battery life since the update. No additional bugs to report though.

Sunday, November 13, 2011 at 8:15 AMBattery issues, wifi issues, SOS only while on full 3G reception, slow. I could go on. Jobs would be turning in its grave the company is going downhill already.

Sunday, November 13, 2011 at 9:50 AMAt home, I have an iPhone 3GS, 2 iPhone 4′s, an iPhone 4S and 2 iPad 2′s. All get a lot of use each day and all running iOS 5. I’m not experiencing any probs. I did have problems with push email on 5.0 not working reliably but 5.01 fixed that.

Monday, November 14, 2011 at 12:36 AMFragmentation, friend and foe. If it means anything to the iMates, my Asus Transformer had a fun wifi disconnect/reconnect loop issue that drained the shit out of the battery, turned out to be a location services bug. Something on your phone us probably doing the same thing and taking the battery with it.
