I initially thought this apartment building, designed by Japanese firm Eastern Design Office, had an eating disorder. But really, the On-The-Corner house has a triangular wedge design that, when viewed at just the right angle, nearly makes it look two-dimensional.
Comprised of stone, glass and metal, the optical effect of the design is aided by the razor sharp point the building comes to. Inside, the building houses seven apartments, each with two bedrooms. I’d probably sell my mother to live in one. [Eastern Design Office via Design-Milk]

Thursday, November 10, 2011 at 7:53 AMhow pissed off would you be being the neighbour who now has this looming over their house.
Sure, it’s nice, but glad we have councils in Australia that wouldn’t approve it in my street.

Thursday, November 10, 2011 at 12:09 PMI think it looks awesome, but it’s just so outta place, as well as casting a daunting shadow across the neighbour’s entire place (check the link to all the other photos)

Thursday, November 10, 2011 at 11:59 AMSeems to me to be a perfectly good way to use the space between two streets intersecting at a very narrow angle.
