Hidden Knife Will Make You Look Like A Fancy Boy

If you’re going to carry a knife, you’ve got to make a decision: Do you want to be the guy with the scary stabby knife that makes you look like Bear Grylls crossed with a Hell’s Angel or something, or do you want something a little more tasteful?

The Gentleman’s Hidden Knife isn’t quiiite as poncy as its name, and its folding-out-of-its-case design is actually pretty cool. It’s $US44 at Garrett Wade. [Cool Material]

Its no different to a pen knife and so I doubt they are illegal in Australia. Though they are illegal to carry without an acceptable reason.

        (6) Any article or device that:
        (a) due to its appearance is capable of being mistaken for something else that is not a weapon, and
        (b) disguises and conceals within it a single-edged or multi-edged blade or spike of any length or of any material.

What is this supposed to be mistaken to be? What is it disguised as? it’s just a folding knife, exactly like a Swiss Army Knife.

This is not illegal IMO, but like, don’t carry knives around with you kids, if a situation ever came up you’ll likely get it taken and used against you.

I learnt a lot from thus article and comments.
Sometimes I’m paranoid and want to carry a knife..
Sometimes I find myself really needing one, but I don’t have one…

Yes it is illegal to carry any concealed weapon. Knife, brass knucles, gun etc.
They are all considered concealed weapons. You can get done for carrying a steak knife, box cutter or a swiss army knife. To actually carry one you’ll need a good reason – eg for work, like its in your tool box or something like that.
The law is pretty clear on this.

I like to carry a bowie knife in a sheath ala Crocodile Dundee just incase I need to skin something.
