Google’s Galaxy Nexus is a big phone. You might think the RAZR is big, but as Douglas Adams might have said, that’s just peanuts to the Galaxy Nexus. This week’s Mobile Monday column covers our first impressions of this impressive phone.
(With noted apologies for the poor focus; yes, I do know that!)

Monday, November 28, 2011 at 10:44 AMYes, I know — my apologies. A limitation of the shooting gear I had to hand, unfortunately. I guess I could have shot it with the Galaxy Nexus in a mirror…

Monday, November 28, 2011 at 10:49 AMI thought you carry around an iPhone 4S and a galaxy S2?
Alex Kidman
Monday, November 28, 2011 at 10:51 AMI did consider that, but the lack of tripod mounts on either ruled them out; I would have had to hold one to film, and then juggle other phones to show size. Messy…

Monday, November 28, 2011 at 11:25 AMMessy… Or extra work? Steve Jobs once had a go at Google because in the google app, the letter o was a slightly different shade of yellow… An extra 10 mins with that photo shoot would make this article more professional… Don’t tarnish gizmodo with shit content to save a few hassles, show us that you are prepared to give it the best, and we’ll keep coming here.

Monday, November 28, 2011 at 11:54 AMSteve Jobs isn’ the most popular man with many of the readers here. That I’ve noticed. But trying to shoot a video with one phone while handholding another to record it would have led to a much worse video. As noted, my apologies for the focus, but that’s all.

Monday, November 28, 2011 at 12:19 PMYeah, even still. The guy had a billion dollar company that kept on growing… Apart from me, none of the other readers here do.

Monday, November 28, 2011 at 2:26 PMHonestly, I didn’t even watch it. I just enjoyed the trolling experience as it took my mind off something for a bit. Hope we’re sweet! My point was (And I think everyone should apply this) is you got a job, take pride in your work. And nah, I’m no billionaire, infact I’m worried about how I’m going to cover rent this week, but that’s just a gen Y thing I suppose….

Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at 12:05 PMNo it’s more of a ‘you’re a dickhead’ type thing. Stop trolling and spreading your negativity. I really couldn’t care less if the video is slightly out of focus

Monday, November 28, 2011 at 10:45 AMAny chance we will be getting something written up today, for those people not wanting to watch videos at work?

Monday, November 28, 2011 at 10:56 AMHey Alex, Just wanted to point out that some (if not most) of your videos don’t embed correctly in the mobile version of your site (I have an ios device)

Monday, November 28, 2011 at 1:16 PMHi Jack — that should now be fixed for all mobile platforms.

Monday, November 28, 2011 at 11:19 AMMy Dell Streak is bigger, and TBH, once you have a phone with a +4.5″ screen, you’ll find it hard to use anything smaller ever again :)

Monday, November 28, 2011 at 11:44 AMThanks Alex, Look forward to your full review.
I tend to find that the gs 2 back looks plastic but holds well in my hands. Does holding the phone “feel” like holding a gs2? Can you tell any weight difference, do you feel like it would slip out of your hand due to size?
Cheers

Monday, November 28, 2011 at 4:55 PMI got a Galaxy Nexus last friday and it doesn’t feel much like the S2. The Galaxy is rather flat, with sharp corners etc and has a glossy feel. The Nexus is rounded, fits in the base of your palm nicely with a textured back and the bezels are much smaller so it fits in a larger screen despite feeling more compact.
