2011 was the year of the Smart TV, but which television was the smartest? You’ve voted, and the winner is…
Reader’s Choice: Samsung UA55D7000
Samsung’s high end US55D7000 was a popular choice, taking home 35.03 per cent of the vote, ahead of Panasonic’s THP55VT30 on 27.39 per cent and then in third place Sony’s KDL40EX720 on 22.29 per cent.
Editor’s Choice:Samsung UA55D7000
Samsung’s had a good year for TVs, and of the nominated set the UA55D7000 is an excellent proposition; it’s Smart TV capable, Wi-Fi capable and interacts nicely with the Samsung Galaxy S II if you’ve got one; as with the other vendors it’s also available in other sizes to suit budget and space requirements.

Is that a typo, or do we have to solve X in terms of Y? :-)

Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at 1:19 PMIt’s a simple typo — the post was written this morning as the polls were closed. My error, now fixed — thanks for pointing it out.

Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at 5:41 PMi looked at these tvs recently while the old man was searching for a new box
out of all of them, i rated sharps tv the best personally, i stuffed around in store for a few hours testing each one to make sure my dad made a sane purchase
60incher – LC60LE830X
the yellow subpixel is crazy awesome when stacked up against the sammy US55D7000, and it pissed all over the plasma’s at the same inch spec.
albeit the sharp lacked the “smart tv” tag but when youve got a dedicated media center, why would you need it?
i love sammy displays, but hands down the LC60LE830X just out classed the US55D7000 for image quality
