Aussie Stop-Motion Music Video Makes Stationery Exciting Again

Australian indie singer-songwriter Hudson‘s new song uses some beautiful stop-motion animation in the video. Made in collaboration with animator Dropbear, it shows that coloured pencils can still be quite exciting.

The song’s called ‘Against The Grain’, and I love how the pencil equaliser beats along in time to the music. I suspect it was insanely difficult to get working too. Now, excuse me while I go find my old colouring books. [Hudson via Reddit]

The scenes with the rotating coloured pencils look like they could fit in nicely with the new Telstra commercials.

holy christ! That must’ve taken forever! Pity the song wasn’t better to do the clip some justice. Not nearly as much work went into it as the filmclip did.
