Who Wants A Super Thin Android Notebook?

NEC is supposedly working on this Android laptop/notebook/smartbook thingy that’s model thin and apparently foldable in every each way. The pictures above are just of the prototype but they give you an idea how crazy this laptop might be.

There’s not even a name for this device yet (the keyboard is unfinished!), it’s called the MGX (MG stands for mobile gear) and has a 7-inch 1024×600 OLED display. It’s about 8.5 inches long and 4.3 inches wide with your usual slew of wireless connections and a battery that can last 10 hours.

The MGX is supposed to run Android but we’re not sure what version of the droidness it’ll end up using (the pictures show the early ugly days of Android). Would this Android notebook interest you? I’m slightly titillated but NEC is crushing all Android fans’ hopes as it expects to put the MGX out by 2013. 2013!? That’s, um, well, a very long time from now. [PC Watch.jp via TechCrunch]
