Earl Cardigan is probably the very worst example of “only” being remembered for the jumper he was named after while other stuff about him was forgotten. After all, he DID lead the charge of the Light Brigade… Only being remembered for a a jumper is actually a big plus after that.
I was a bit disappointed he didn’t mention Nicolas Chauvin, (chauvinism), but then the connection isn’t really smooth enough for a pithy song.
