The story is relayed by Masayoshi Son, CEO of Japanese telecom Softbank, who was meeting with Tim Cook the day of the 4S launch. The meeting was cut short by a call from Jobs, who pulled Cook to discuss secret products he’d never live to see. Nobody knows for sure what took place on that call except Tim Cook himself, but it does lend credence to the idea of a Steve Jobs Four Year Master Plan. At the very least, we’ll know that whatever the next big Apple mystery is, it’ll be imbued with the thoughtfulness of Jobs. The iPhone 5 likely has his fingerprints all over it. But again, we might never know. [PC Mag]

Thursday, October 20, 2011 at 10:26 AMOf course Steve might have been calling Cook to let him know the end was near — Tim would hardly have relayed this back to the Softbank CEO.

Just This Guy ...
Thursday, October 20, 2011 at 5:53 PMNot surprised he worked until the very dea.. err.. End.
He was after all a megalomaniacal individual.
Probably refused to accept his own mortality until the very end.
Even then I’ll wager he was arguing with St Peter at the Gates.

Thursday, October 20, 2011 at 6:19 PMVisionaries like Steve Jobs reveal the true secret to the Universe in that nothing is impossible with time, perseverance, and positive visualization. Such a passion for furthering human communication inspires. His legacy will survive generations with names like Edison, Tesla as the greatest inventors and visionaries of all time. As an artist, I draw from these inspirations and advancements in my work and you may enjoy my recent portrait of Mr. Jobs, now In Memoriam at http://dregstudiosart.blogspot.com/2011/08/end-of-era-steve-jobs.html
