No, instead they ripped the iPhone screenshot straight from Laura Scott’s blog back in 2008; cut off the top section and bunged it into the promotional material. Someone in the marketing department at Samsung really needs a shakedown. [Daring Fireball via Gizmodo UK]
Update: Samsung has now removed the page. Daring Fireball has a screengrab.

Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at 9:52 AMGood call, they are lazy. Why can’t these companies see, Apple does not have the superior products they just have good marketing.
They have marketing talking to development and it works.

Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at 8:59 AMCould it not be a coincidence that the marketing departments of Samsung and Apple both hanker for Mexican in Boulder, Colorado?

Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at 9:36 AMthats just sloppy and lazy. I’d sack my marketing department for that kind of blatant plagiarism.

Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at 10:11 AMSurely they both use the same mapping software? That would explain the similarity.

Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at 10:33 AMThe maps software does look different between android and iphone though. im pretty sure the galaxy player is an android device with touchwiz, so it should look like whatever that has.

Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at 12:42 PMMost likely it was an image placeholder and someone at Samsung just approved it.

Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at 11:07 PMSamsung, the copyist kings, right down to the last pixel. This is a surprise to nobody. Now can we admit this is in their psyche. When Sony looked inside the first Samsung TV’s they found everything was identical to theirs, right down to the circuit boards. And they couldn’t do a thing. They didn’t patent. Samsungs foundation were built on ripping off everything they could, now they have to face the truth behind their deceptions. You can love their stuff but understand, it came from someone else’s ideas first.

Thursday, October 20, 2011 at 1:29 AMAnd thank god for that, otherwise the 65″ TV I bought today may have cost the same as a Bravia.
Thanks Samsung. Proceed.
