New Fitness-Centric iPod Nano Doubles As A Watch

Apple’s boosted its petite iPod offering, with a new scrolling touch UI (no more grid!), built-in sensors for fitness tracking, and — wait for it — an assortment of virtual watch faces. Oh, and it plays music. Available today.

The new Nano will come with 16 swappable watch faces, and will sell in seven colours — $149 for 8GB, $169 for 16GB.

Strangely the Product RED version isn’t showing up on the Apple Australia website but is there on the US page.

I was hoping for the Product RED version here in au to replace my way too small RED shuffle. Too hard to decide what colour to get instead, grey? blue?!

All I can say is it better have the battery life to go with it. I don’t want to be charging my “watch” everyday.
Although it’s cool in its own way.

I’ve been using a couple of nanos as watches since the Lunatik and TikTok came out. keep a charger handy, but I’ve found that by switching the nano off overnight and NOT playing music :) then it does last a fair while.

Pretty excited about the new faces to be honest.
