Oh, Kermit, Kermit, Kermit. Has it really come to this? Reduced to begging for likes in order to please your Disney overlords?
It’s part of a promotional effort for The Muppets movie (not to be confused with The Muppet Movie, of course), due out in the States in November and in Australia in January. Sure, I’m enough of a Muppet fan to admit I’ll probably line up to watch the flick anyway, but this… just seems desperate.

Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at 1:36 PMTo be fair though, if you’ve ever watched The old Muppets TV show Kermit was always, always, a character that would beg and plead for things from the audience and the “cast” of his show. That was part of his shtick: always ready to appease.
That sort of behaviour is and has always been exactly in character for Kermit.

Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at 9:39 PMNot only that, but the promotions and trailers for the new Muppets movie are brilliantly satirical and self referential. This is completely in character.

Thursday, October 6, 2011 at 1:24 AMOh come on, it’s just publicity. And he’s just a PUPPET. What’s the big deal? The only thing that bugs me about this shill is that a bazillion likes is impossible, so the promised reward can’t happen. The Frog has learned something from Obama. Maybe he should run for president. :P
