Gizmodo friend and amazing filmmaker and photographer Vincent Laforet says that calling this time-lapse video of Utah and Arizona “breathtaking” is an understatement. He adds “Holy cow”. I agree with him completely, although I’d have added “Holy Jesus-on-a-pogo-stick-Christ!”
Make sure to watch this at full screen and HD resolution with good sound.
The creator of this stunning piece is Dustin Farrell. “Every frame of this video is a raw still from a Canon 5D2 DSLR and processed with Adobe software,” he says “I felt that showing them again with motion controlled HDR and/or night timelapse would be a new way to see old landmarks.”
It’s not only a new way to see them. It completely blew me away.

Friday, October 7, 2011 at 11:32 AMEverytime you kids post a Vimeo vid I have to ‘Right click / Watch on vimeo’, on both my computers, in chrome. Any idea why the vid wont load for me on giz?

(not gunna switch, but that explains that it’s chrome’s fault and not Giz)

Saturday, October 8, 2011 at 6:31 PMI use Chrome man, but I don’t have the problem you are experiencing. Try a clean install of chrome and flash. BTW this IS the most amazing time-lapse I have ever seen. Stunning slow dolly effect.

Saturday, October 8, 2011 at 12:19 AMHi Guys, OP here, I worked out that it was FlashBlock, I can usually click to activate flash content (YouTube etc) but with embedded Vimeo vids on Giz I have to enable temporary access for the whole page.
Thanks for your replies,
xx

Friday, October 7, 2011 at 12:21 PMThe music sounded like one of the instrumentals from lord of the rings to me, or something similar. The was a truely incredibly video though, I really hope he does more and I hope they’re posted here otherwise I’ll probably miss them :)
I was so close to buying a 5D MkII earlier this year but went with the 60D instead until the MkIII comes out.

Monday, October 10, 2011 at 11:41 AMDid it ever occur to you that using the expression, “Holy Jesus-on-a-pogo-stick-Christ!” might be offensive to some of us?

Monday, October 10, 2011 at 12:44 PMCare to explain why this might offend some of us?

Monday, October 10, 2011 at 8:45 PMSorry but the sequence transitions are not precisely timed with the audio track. There’s more to a good time-lapse video than just eye candy and dramatic music. Timing is the key.

Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at 12:11 PMYeah, I especially love the one you’ve made for us to enjoy. Oh wait, no, you haven’t…
