How Can This Truck Drive With A Wheel Missing?

The big bad truck in this video is missing a freaking wheel… but somehow still driving. I’m not kidding, the front left tyre is just GONE. Disappeared. Non-existant. And yet the truck can even make turns! How in the? What in the? Huh? Watch.

I wonder if it could make a left turn. [YouTube via The Awesomer]

A left turn would be even easier. While this is cool, it doesn’t seem that hard to do. If you draw a line from the front right tyre to the forward most of the left front Tyler’s, as long as there is more weight on the back/right side of that line it won’t tip. Considering the back side of the line has an extra set of wheels, most of the dumping container, and a pile of rocks, it’s just not surprising.

Pretty sure there’s something heavy in the rear right hand side, not that hard to figure out!

+1. The very conspicuous mound of dirt and rocks is strategically positioned.

This sort of thing you can do on air suspension or oleopneumatics but I doubt this truck is as advanced as a Merced-Benz commuter bus.

Trucks (and racing cars) have very stiff suspensions compared to passenger cars, so they don’t lean too much going around corners. Don’t try this in your family wagon!
