European researchers found that consuming strawberries can help prevent damage to your stomach’s mucas membrane caused by drinking too much alcohol. It’s due to the berries’ antioxidant properties and anthocyans, as well as the antioxidant defenses and enzymes they cause the body to release. The study found that eating lots of strawberries can help prevent gastric illnesses, and slow down the formation of stomach ulcers.

Just remember: eat your strawberries before you get loaded kids. Once you’re blackout drunk, it’s too late. Also? I’m pretty sure Strawberry Hill doesn’t count. [MedicalXpress]

Who is this Boze fellow and what's he doing in my stomach??
It'd be more impressive if you could report 'mucous membranes' correctly. For a tech website, spell check should be a must. Gizmodo is seriously slipping of late.
Badass. Putting strawberries in punch has a whole new perk.
Euro researchers might be on to link between science and how it doesn't help dumb behavior get smarter.
