Bored of the same old tunes on your Android phone? TuneIn Radio gives you the world’s radio stations in an easy to use interface.
The free version of TuneIn is ad-supported but relatively unobtrusive, while the paid version’s hook is the ability to record the radio streams you’re listening to, as well as rewind cached radio broadcasts. Most online stations are quite low bitrate, so you’re better off buying the music you really want to listen to, but the ability to switch between local FM and international music from anywhere between Antarctica and Siberia has a lot of appeal. Thursday, October 27, 2011 at 3:52 PMSince my clock radio died a few weeks ago, TuneIn Radio on my Samsung tablet has been a fantastic substitute! The wake-up alarm works brilliantly, every morning I’m woken by something cool on BBC Radio 4 Extra.
You’re not just limited to music, there’s a lot of great stuff out there, I have things like NPR, BBC Radio 4 (and the Extra version), etc saved in my TuneIn pre-sets.
