Amazing Invisible Glass Kills Glare Dead

Reflections and glare on your electronic devices is irritating and causes eye strain. Nippon Electric Glass is battling glare for eyeballs everywhere with their so-impressive-you-can’t-even-see-it Invisible Glass.

Reflections and glare are the bane of my existence. Between my MacBook Air and my HDTV, I’m constantly adjusting screens to minimise glare from lamps and the sun. Damn you Sun, Giver of Life! That’s why I’m excited to see that Nippon Electric Glass Co Ltd has developed a film for glass that virtually eliminates glare. The film is placed on the front and back of the glass to reduce reflections from light sources. Usually, glass will allow 92 per cent of light pass through it and reflect eight per cent back to the viewer. The Invisible Glass film allows 99.5 per cent of light pass through it and reflects only half a percent back at the viewer.

If you hate maths, just look at the image above. The glass on the left is untreated and the glass on the right that you can’t see, that’s been treated with the film. That should convince you that you want this glass on your next electronic device. There’s no word on when this glass wizardry will make it to market, but my retinas and I are hoping for as soon as possible.

Is the film on the front or the back? Because if it has to go on the front, then it’s useless on phones and touch screens etc, because it will scratch easily, unless it’s scratch free, which somehow I doubt

      TL:DR?

In the second paragraph, “The film is placed on the front and back of the glass”.

Who cares that it might not be for mobiles!? when your using your phone the screen is right in front of you and you can easily adjust the angle to reduced the glair! + you can get mat screen protectors to stop it!- or hey this film may even be able to be used as a screen protector!!! This technology would be great for TV’s an monitors because who wants to move once they’ve sat on the couch huh?!

      Love Jesus

hmmm… does it really need the film to be on the back? cos i see this being retro fitted to many a phone… even if it only has half the effect if you had used front and back (which could only be done at the factory)
