Yes, OK, it’s terribly exciting that Einstein’s theory of relativity has been put on notice by some perky faster-than-light neutrinos. But science, I’ve been burned before by your outsized enthusiasms. So here’s a great way to hedge my bets.

Okay, so maybe I don’t have enough bankroll to bet you $200 that this won’t pan out. But I’ve got a bright shiny nickel that says this experiment doesn’t stand up under peer review. And if it does, well, who cares about nickels when the whole world’s been turned upside down? [xkcd]
