HP TouchPad Not Coming Back To Harvey Norman

HP’s announced that it’ll resume a limited production run of TouchPads — most likely because it’d be less of a loss to finish off spare parts than to just dump them — but they’ll stay stateside only.

Harvey Norman had indicated to ZDNet that it would make a play for the final run of TouchPads, which were announced on the company blog yesterday. It looks like those hopes might have been dashed today, however, with ChannelNews reporting that HP executives have indicated that there’s no current plans to bring any of the new Touchpads to Australia at the $99 price point. If you’re still keen on a TouchPad, it looks like using a US shipping agency might be your last, best hope — unless you feel like paying inflated eBay prices, that is.
