Crazy Photographer Captures Perfect Clouds 6km Up In The Sky

Rüdiger Nehmzow means “Man With Big Balls Made of Steel” in German. After watching this video of him taking photos of clouds from the open door of a plane, 6km up in the sky, it can’t mean anything else.

Rüdiger straps himself into a plane, opens the door at 6000m and, equipped with his camera, an oxygen mask and jacket to protect him against the sub-zero temperatures, hunts perfect photos of clouds. Looks like fun to me and the photos look even better. [Nehmzow via PetaPixel]

“Man With Big Balls Made of Steel”?

What is brave about opening a plane’s door when you are strapped in complete with oxygen mask etc.

I’m not an overly brave person, but I would love to do that! What a fantastic view he has, and so easy, he’s just sitting there. It’s not like he’s climbed a mountain or anything. It’s not like he’s jumping out of the plane.

I don’t think it’s particularly brave, but it is very, very cool.
