Aussie Smart Lid Wins OH&S Award

Gizmodo AU

We reported on the Smart Lid system a couple of years ago; at that time Seamus wasn’t that impressed with it. It turns out that this Aussie invention has impressed somebody, though; it’s just won an occupational health and safety award for best new product.

I’m honestly not sure how a product that was around four years ago can be the best ‘new’ product (sometimes it pays not to think too hard about awards ceremonies), but according to a release sent to us by Smart Lid systems, they’ve just won the Occupational Health & Safety Magazine 2011 New Product Of The Year award. Can’t say I’m a dedicated reader of the tome in question, but any Aussie invention is worth plaudits for success. [Smart Lid]

reminds me of my hyper colour T-shirts from back in the late 80′s. Classic.

I wonder what all those colour changing chemicals used in the lids would do to your body over time, since the liquid (coffee, tea) does touch the lid at some point when the person is drinking.
