WSJ Says High-Res iPad 3 Will Appear ‘Early 2012’

Just in case you really weren’t sure that Apple was readying a new iPad, the WSJ’s sources have tipped them off about an early 2012 launch for the high-res 9.7-inch iPad 3, which will allegedly have a 2048×1536 display.

As the WSJ says, this is a marked difference from the iPad 2’s 1024×768 resolution. If you cast your minds back, the iPad 2 was actually rumoured to have the 2048×1536 resolution which is being pointed at for the iPad 3 launch, but failed to materialise — so don’t get your hopes up too much, in case another disappointment is headed our way.
