WSJ Says High-Res iPad 3 Will Appear 'Early 2012'

Just in case you really weren't sure that Apple was readying a new iPad, the WSJ's sources have tipped them off about an early 2012 launch for the high-res 9.7-inch iPad 3, which will allegedly have a 2048x1536 display.

As the WSJ says, this is a marked difference from the iPad 2's 1024x768 resolution. If you cast your minds back, the iPad 2 was actually rumoured to have the 2048x1536 resolution which is being pointed at for the iPad 3 launch, but failed to materialise — so don't get your hopes up too much, in case another disappointment is headed our way. Pretty sure the same people made the same rumour last year with the iPad 2, which turned out to be completely unfounded.

Not saying this won't be true, because it probably will be. The iPad 2's screen resolution is currently awful if you're used to Retina Display/qHD. But take with a grain of salt.
