Woman Will Stand Trial For Hiring Hitman On Facebook

When you’re angry with your boyfriend, don’t ask someone to kill him on Facebook. A judge may decide this online threat deserves a felony murder solicitation charge and a felony weapons charge. The weapon, in this case, is a computer.

It all started when 20-year-old London Eley of Philadelphia ranted on Facebook about her boyfriend and offered a stack of money for someone to kill him. Amazingly, 18-year-old Timothy Bynum replied to her post and offered to do the job for $US1000. They allegedly chatted, but never took the next step.

Eley supposedly calmed down after an hour, but it was too late. The boyfriend’s relatives became aware of the threatening exchange and called the police. Eley and Bynum were arrested and are being held on $US35,000 and $US50,000 bail until their arraignment on September 6. [Philly.com; Shutterstock/hurricane]
