Watch Bill Nye Try To Explain Irene And Climate Change

Check out our favourite science guy, Bill Nye, struggle to be tactful when all he wants to do is explain science to people. That’s why we love you, Bill. This Fox host loves you, too. Science, maybe less so. [Mediaite]

Please people, don’t forget that Al Gore is only passionate about global warming while the companies he represents are cashing in on the hysteria, Al Gore is not a scientist just a spokesman for his group. I have always loved Bill Nye, but that video has changed my mind as he looks more like another climate change puppet.

I guess the “climate change puppets” also include the CSIRO, NASA, MET office, The Royal Society, Shell oil, etc. because they have all released statements that climate change is real and man-made. Also funny that all the global warming deniers are either non-climate scientists, or working for right wing thinktanks funded by oil companies….. sigh.

Leave him be. Paul probably lives on Sesame street. Everyone he knows is a puppet. ;)

Really paul? Bill is a scientist, and so has to respect 2 things – basic science (you up CO2, you retain more heat from the sun, stuff happens) and the consensus of other practicing scientists about what the basic physics implies. He WOULD change his mind if the consensus about the impact changed – that is where science is different from political belief – “liberals like climate change, i hate liberals, so climate change must be wrong”.
The science is clear – based on basic physics( up co2 = up av temp), the historical record of the impacts of co2 levels (eg from ice cores at the poles, coral cores etc etc – whenever c02 was high, so where temps) and climate modeling (the models show that higher av temps lead to unstable and on everage hotter weather) we are headed for climate change.

Politics has NOTHING to do with it, and the sooner both sides grasp this, the better for us, and our children. The fact that SOME people profit from reducing climate change is neither here ot there – capitalism means people will always try to profit from anomolies in the economy, for example useless wars, subsidisation of dirty energy, or insane progams to make planet killing nukes.
