Two Stores Selling Knock-Off Apple Gadgets Under Attack By Apple

China’s not the only country that has a problem with counterfeit Apple products — even NYC is plagued with knock-off iStuff, according to Reuters. The Queens area of New York City has seen two stores, Apple Story and Fun Zone, close.

Fun zone indeed! Even the customers aren’t safe, as Apple has reportedly requested a list of customers’ names, along with suppliers who were ensuring the two stores were well stocked with products that were “nearly an exact duplicate” of the kind of kit Apple sells itself.

All the details trickled out yesterday, when the documents in a lawsuit first filed in July were revealed. It could be worse, though — they could’ve cloned Steve Jobs. [Reuters]
