The Mid-Century Typing Table

The typing table is a sleeper piece of mid-century industrial furniture. It’s simple, minimal and versatile. It has sidewings that fold down and wheels which lock in place. But what I like most about it is that it’s all metal.

Used in offices during the ’40s and ’50s for secretaries to wheel their typewriters around on, the typing table can be repurposed as as a stand/table/cart/tray in the living room/bedroom/bathroom/kitchen/garage. These seem to be going from anywhere between $US70 and $US90 on eBay, but if you put in your due diligence on Craigslist, you can probably find one for $US30 or $US40, maybe cheaper. (I actually found one for $US15 once) [Etsy]
