The Series 7 is only 0.9 inches thick, but the tiny bezel’s what catches my attention: only 0.25 inches. That’s a gorgeous thing to have in front of your face. Underneath all that brushed aluminium are some pretty damn good guts for the price: a 2.2-GHz Core i7 processor, 8 GB of RAM, a 750 GB (mechanical) harddrive, AMD Radeon HD 6750M graphics, and two USB 3.0 ports. For $US1300? Very nice. It may be a MacBook ripoff, but I’d like to see Apple ripoff that price. [BusinessWire via Laptop Mag]

See how easy that was?

Thursday, September 1, 2011 at 8:12 AMWere thin laptops really an Apple only design? I have an old Sony Vaio that is pretty damn thin.

Thursday, September 1, 2011 at 8:35 AMGotta agree with you. Although it really looks like a Macbook, it also REALLY looks like an older Sony VAIO that had the same kinda metallic finish, back when Macbooks were white.

Thursday, September 1, 2011 at 1:00 PMAs much as I hate to admit it, the oversize buttonless trackpad and the indentation on the lip for opening the screen are a little more than ‘inspired’ by the Macbook…
However, happy to see other manufacturers FINALLY getting on board higher resolution screens in small packages! Might have found a budget replacement for my 3 year old Vaio Z at last!

Friday, September 2, 2011 at 12:12 PMIt’s just a laptop with some good specs. I see no “cloning” here. That’s a moronic assertion- like saying all skinny bald guys in ill-fitting turtle-necks are Steve Jobs clones.
