LinkedIn Was Using Your Face For Ads

Here's something every LinkedIn user should disable today, lest you want to see your name and face used in advertising for the social-networking site.

Update: We hear that LinkedIn has now backed away from the feature, but you still might want to check your settings.

All you need to do is go into the "account" section in the settings of your LinkedIn profile, then click "manage social advertising". Where it says "LinkedIn may use my name, photo in social advertising", uncheck the box.

I just did it, and it takes literally five seconds. Do it now, before you see your smug little face beaming at you from a third-party ad. [BrandImpact via @ten_ten]

You know why it is called onlymeworld.com because the only person on it is yo.

Seriously you let this blatant spam through Gizmodo?

This isn't SPAM through Gizmodo, it's a notice informing LinkedIn users that this is going on and no Email was sent out informing that it was happening. Your face and name are you and what if you saw your name and face advertising some sex pill? not a good thing and they should be asking for your permission in the first place.

(not saying they would but a LinkedIn user's face to something like a sex pill, it's just an example)

lol? you can't be serious can you?

Barry, Barry... Barry. Not speaking for Adam, however, he might have been replying to Shiromasa Yamamoto... Not the article... PICNIC moment...

You realise that same spambot posts the same content for the same crappy social network no-one's heard of every time there's an article even vaguely related to one?

Barry got the wrong end of the stick there.
