LG’s obviously persisting with passive 3DTV over active shutter which is what Samsung and the other manufacturers have rightly adopted, a move which caused Samsung to brand LG “stupid shits” when referring to their 3DTVs in April.
If passive 3DTV is your game though, this LG TV will be the one to go for — the full LED screen upconverts 2D images to 3D, while also offering 3D video on-demand through the LG Apps store. Full specs haven’t been revealed by LG just yet, but there’s some corporate boasting going on down below if you’re really that into passive screens.

CINEMA 3D, the world’s first 3D display technology to receive “Flicker-Free” certification from TÃœV and Intertek, two of Europe’s most reputable testing agencies, means that viewers no longer have to worry about the dizziness or disorientation they might experience watching other 3D TVs. Also, Wide Viewing Angle ensures they can watch the TV from practically any position in front of the TV, whether sitting, leaning back or lying down. Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at 9:14 AMI think LG are onto a winner with their Passive 3d. I have one of the new LG tvs and yeah the 3D might not be as good as some of the others but its still pretty damn good.
When i want to watch a 3d movie every 3 months i dont want to stuff around charging batteries or wearing those stupid heavy glasses, and also would not be paying the $80 or so that they cost.
The average punter wants simplicity and things that ‘just work’. The likes of Samsung, Sony etc haven’t yet worked this out. LG are onto a winner though, their magic motion remote is another thing that just works, no working out what button to press to navigate a remote control, just point it at the screen.
Samsung are the Stupid Shits for failing to work out what the average consumer wants.

Serious though, my TV’s 3d is amazing when it’s done properly and all in 1080weeeeeeeee!
