Remember that Apple Store made entirely out of glass? Yes, the one that has sides not made of glass because it’s between two bloody buildings? Well, it has been approved by Santa Monica’s Planning Commission.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again… Environmental Asshats!!
There’s no defending this design from an environmental standpoint. Nomatter what additional technology you use, it’s still going to bleed energy with an all glass, high ceilinged design like this. It might as well be outdoors.
…and don’t get me started on their obscene cosmetic use of Aluminium. At x40 the energy cost to produce compared to rolled steel of equivalent strength, it has the environmental cridentials of a seal clubber.
Since when have company PR given a shit about practicality. It looks pretty and conforms to what people think a ‘green’ future looks like. Now all it’s missing is a wheatgrass garden with arctic water fountain.
