Finding WALL-E amongst the world’s robot population is pretty easy. Naming all of them is the real challenge.

Some of you may have seen this over the weekend; I personally spent a couple of minutes searching for WALL-E and then a couple of hours debating with my better half as to the name of some or all of them. Sad to say, I failed after a couple of dozen. Can you do better?
Click the link for the full image, which you’ll need to have any hope of identifying them all.
Turns out, if you can name them all, Hopewell Studios, the folks behind the image (which they’ll also soon sell as a poster) will give you a free poster. If you don’t go mad trying first.

Monday, August 22, 2011 at 11:22 AMA couple of robots I was disappointed not to find among them:
(i) Krang’s body (i.e. the robot that Krang sits inside from TMNT), and
(ii) That robot that likes to stab things from Futurama.
PS. Who the hell is Wall-E? :)
Troy
Monday, August 22, 2011 at 10:47 PMHe’s Roberto from Futurama. “Now step back, I’m practicing my stabbing”
If they included every robot from Futurama, the thing would double in size.

Josh
Monday, August 22, 2011 at 12:06 PMDALEKS ARE NOT ROBOTS! They are aliens that reside in an EXOSKELETON, NOT A ROBOT.
Graeme
Monday, August 22, 2011 at 12:14 PMAnd what on earth is Evil Edna doing there? She’s a posessed television, not a robot.

Monday, August 22, 2011 at 12:16 PMEven a DRD from Farescape! o_O
No Number 5 from Short Circuit though…? But then Wall E did rip-off that design pretty badly so it’s not too shocking not to see him in there.
Lars
Monday, August 22, 2011 at 12:26 PMNumber 5′s in there. Right next to the terminator and behind robot Bill and Ted – top left hand corner.
Awesome pic! It’s got everything! Even Nu-nu from the teletubbies lol!
Graeme
Monday, August 22, 2011 at 12:27 PMNumber 5 is there, top left, next to the Terminator.

Monday, August 22, 2011 at 12:28 PMTheres some extremely obscure robots in there. whoever compiled that is obviously ridiculously well-versed in robots, across many genres. Reminded me of some robots from my childhood I’d completely forgotten about.
Laughed at the Bill and Ted clones…

Monday, August 22, 2011 at 12:39 PMNice to see the anime robots (aka Castle in the Sky etc) in there, got to 41, but couldn’t get any further without some serious Google time and a massive brain haemorrhage. Totally missing the eye robot “Max” from Flight of the Navigator though.

Monday, August 22, 2011 at 12:51 PMPretty good poster..
although personally I would have just stuck with the vintage and cult Movie, TV show and Video game robot characters.
You’ve got quite a few characters from cartoons and kids shows that almost no one would know let alone remember. And I don’t think the robot from the BAD ROBOT trade mark really counts…
On the whole through its good to see people still remembering the old robots and mechanical monstrosities from the 50′s SciFi era — “Go Tobor you can make it across the hot lava just stop halfway and chuck those pesky astronauts off your shoulders you’ll be fine…”
MrTaco
Monday, August 22, 2011 at 1:02 PMAhahaha, they even included Alpha from Power Rangers!
