Animal-Friendly PETA Porn Coming Soon

To save the animals we must lie down naked with the animals. At least, uh, that’s the gist of this PETA porn site news I’ve been chewing on today as I try and understand what it all means.

Basically PETA, that outspoken animal rights group also known as People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, has registered one of those racy .xxx domains and intends to use it as a full-blown porn site that “draws attention to the plight of animals”. And to some gratuitous T&A, one must assume, although PETA has not gone into much detail about what this subscription-only affair will entail.

We can rule bestiality out right here and now, of course, but other than that PETA rep Lindsay Rajt seemed to indicate most of what the porn world offers could be fair game:

“We live in a 24 hour news cycle world, and we learn the racy things we do are sometimes the most effective way that we can reach particular individuals. There will be a lot of girl and boy next door content, but we haven’t ruled out celebrities on the site as well. People who are extraordinarily dedicated to helping animals and who are willing to do whatever it takes to draw attention to the suffering they endure.”

PETA has not shied away from sex in the past (e.g. banned Super Bowl ads, naked celebs, general nudity), although the full monty is completely new, unexplored territory. I guess we’ll just have to buy a subscription, stop eating meat and investigate. [Huffington Post]
