Nathalie Miebach, a Boston-based artist and newly-named TED Global Fellow, collected weather data from the region and used the information to inform her work. The data that indicated air temperature, barometric pressure, and wave height helped write the music. She then took the score and, with basket weaving techniques, folded its chaotic lines together to create her three-dimensional sculpture. She even had a small ensemble perform the tone poem. Remarkable. [Nathalie Miebach via Brain Pickings]
