Who Cares That Kate Hudson Called Her New Baby ‘Bing’?

Gizmodo AU

Well, I just posted this story, so that says something. But if this has no place on Gizmodo, then comment within. I may well just nuke this post. All interactive like! Oh, and the news part: Kate Hudson called her baby ‘Bing’. That is all. Oh, except the full name is really Bingham. So…yeah. As you were. [People via SAI]

As long as he inherits his father’s musical talent, I don’t care what his name is.

My mate used to have a dog called Bingham.

Fact: the Bing search engine was named after Bing Crosby.

BING Crosby is still more famous for that name than the silly Google clone search engine.
Perhaps constant association with tech stuff warps people’s perceptions…

Can I put forward the obvious troll comment of “this is a MS promotion child?”

But seriously, this is a tech site and this has no place here. If this was a celeb, gossip site I would totally be saying right now, um wtf, I associate bing with search and people in the future may even more so (if bing gains further market share). Imagine being bought up with the name yahooo or google.

OK to us it seems cool, but think about the other 98% non tech heads. Sad, right?
