Skateboarder Aryeh Kraus was outfitted with five cameras on his body, one camera under his skateboard and one camera for a wide shot. Those seven cameras combine for a dizzying, complicated and super technical video. Multiple perspectives makes skateboarding seem hard.
The video is called “Extremities” by Eli Stonberg and I think everyone’s favourite view is the camera right under the skateboard. Kickflips are a trip! [Eli Stonberg via Laughing Squid]

Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at 4:03 PMSkateboarding is hella hard. I was seriously into it about 8 or 9 years ago. now I just kinda pump round my local with a few tricks here and there but it really is very difficult and is a very under-rated sport. Not only are you controlling your own body, you are also controlling an unsecure object with your feet. Difficulty rating = 15/10
A lot of people are like omg best athlete ever is some guy that can run fast, or some guy that can throw a spear like 50 metres, but the skill in skateboarding and extreme sports in general far outweighs skill from 90% of other sports.

Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at 4:06 PMBut unfortunately the athletes in this sport have a bad reputation for “breaking the law” and “damaging property” etc etc when in fact it is your “heroic” footballers that do worse stuff than extreme sport competitors.
Skateboarding, BMXing and Inline skating have an amazing community where everyone is out to have a good time. The only time I’ve seen things damaged, fights, etc are the posers and junkies that happen to hang out at the parks or spots.
