Sony Rated Australia’s Top Brand, Internode Tops ISP Satisfaction

Gizmodo AU

What’s the bet brand polling was done before the PlayStation network got hacked? Bing is the biggest mover, jumping 107 places in 2011 to 98th spot. Meanwhile, new customer satisfaction research puts Internode ahead of the telco pack, while 3 and Vodafone slide.

Tech companies feature prominently in what TNS reckons are Australia’s most popular 100 brands. In the top 10 alone are LG (2), Apple (3), Panasonic (5), Canon (6), and Samsung (8). Google comes in at 11, and Telstra at 14. LG at number two is a huge surprise to me, what about you? [Hat tip: Mumbrella]

Less surprising is Vodafone and 3’s continued fall in Roy Morgan’s April satisfaction survey of 6,400 internet users. VHA’s two brands tied at 61%, behind everyone including AAPT (69%) and Telstra Big Pond (70%).

Props went to Internode (92%), iiNet (89%), and TPG (80%). At 79%, Optusnet also stayed above the industry average of 73%. I’m with Internode, and have no complaints. Agree with your provider’s rating? [via iTWire]

PSN hack aside, Sony are pretty good. I’ve got more Sony products than just Playstations, like a nice Bravia, headphones, blu ray player etcetera and it’s all great quality.

This came at a really shitty time when my PS3′s disc-reading laser has apparently fried. It’s a first for me, but it does suck.

Is it too much to ask for these “survey” companies to include details of their sample? How would I know if they went and asked a bunch of toddlers who can’t read?

Oh I see now – “The results are based on interviews with consumers aged 15 to 64″ (mumberella link). Still need to know where they did their interviews and how…

      A,
go to http://www.roymorgan.com and learn about it. This article was written by Danny Allen (not RMR), and the survey he talks about has a sample of 50,000 people in Australia.
