SideCLOUDload Saves Files On The Web To Your Dropbox Account

SideCLOUDload is a web app that sends files from the web to your Dropbox account without forcing you to download them first. The tool is useful if you’re on a computer without Dropbox installed, or that doesn’t permit downloads.

Enter the URL of the file you want in your Dropbox account, your Dropbox credentials, and if you like you can rename the downloaded file or provide a download directory in your Dropbox account. You’ll have to give sideCLOUDload your Dropbox credentials for it to work, but the site’s privacy policy says they don’t keep the information; it’s only saved on your computer. If you prefer, sideCLOUDload will email you the files you want instead.

Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. I had a situation at work the other day where I wanted to download the rather largish iOS dev kit to use that night when I got home, and didn’t feel comfortable using the closely-monitored corporate internet connection for that big a personal use download…this would have been perfect.

This would be a wonderful bookmarklet on an ipad or iphone.
