Must Watch: 39 Songs Sampled In Rockin’ 3 Minute Electro Mashup

Gizmodo AU

Need to kick start your Monday morning? Watch this 17 year old’s mad skills as he uses a Novation Launchpad to mash together 39 electro pop tracks — from the likes of Daft Punk, Gorillaz and Kylie Minogue — to create a 3 minute floor filler.

Going by the name, Madeon, the young French producer also uses a Novation ReMOTE Zero SL MKII MIDI controller for this track called “Pop Culture”. The software? Not Ableton Live as you’d expect: He uses FL Studio and you can see him trigger lots of 16th-note clips. Love it. [Madeon via Create Digital Music]

Amazing stuff! Even though I’m not a fan of his taste (Ke$ha DOT DOT DOT), that mix is masterfully done.

Sometimes even th crappiest places can have great samples to become something bigger and better when used creatively. This proves it. Love it.

Check out his other stuff on youtube. There’s a good remix of The Island by Pendulum up there and some originals.

Look, no denying this kids skills. However, 39 slices of crap songs does not make a good track. “I can be your boy..” MEH it is just another 4 on the floor gimicky sample song. Write a riff and amazing lyric and you get my attention. Sorry to be a hater, but it is a shit song. I admit I never listen to elctronic doof shite.
