Man’s Titanium Nose Saves Him From Shooting Spree

Yesterday’s awful Michigan shooting spree left seven people dead. Robert Poore wasn’t one of them – despite being shot directly in the face. Why? The bullet hit his artificial nose and bounced off.

The titanium plate embedded in Poore’s face was a vestige of childhood cancer treatment – a harrowing portion of his life, I’m sure, but one that ended up saving him from a gunshot to the head. So, I guess it all evens out, in a way. Poore was admitted to the hospital for minor scrapes, but left the same day. I wonder if he’ll need a new plate now? [Wood TV via HuffPo]

Ok, this is not an excuse for all those people with a propensity for hanging metal of your faces to cut of your nose and go titanium…! ;]
