Standalone ADSL2+ users on a $30 plan now receive 50GB (up from 15GB), while the $40 plan is increased from 60GB to 150GB. The $50 plan gets a boost from 200GB to 500GB, though its shaped speed is reduced from 1Mbps to 256kbps, matching the other plans. The new quotas are divided in half: peak and off-peak (2:30am-8:30am). [TPG via Whirlpool]

Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at 3:27 PMHuh, that’s weird. I’m on the $49.99 120G (split 60/60 between on and off peak). However, my rollover date was the 18th and I haven’t been updated yet. I assume it’ll roll over to 250/250 next month then… though since I never even used my 60/60 I’m tempted to downgrade to the 75/75 plan and save myself ten bucks.

Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at 4:07 PMYou have to change plans on their site, they normally keep you on the same plan until you request to change.
Its free if you upgrade (its considered an upgrade if you choose same plan for same money)

Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at 11:03 PMThat’s interesting, because my plan used to be a 100GB (split 50/50) and automatically rolled over to the 120 (60/60).
I’ll give them a call tomorrow though. Thanks for the advice!

Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at 4:14 PMMatthew Kermeen – You will need to call and have the changes made. Basically they will refund the remaining monthly fee (eg. Half way through the month on the $49.99, they will credit you $25 – no matter how much you have used of the cap) and start you a new cycle on the new quota. It’s not an automatic thing.

Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at 4:46 PMMatthew you need to update your plan on their website. They don’t roll you over automatically. So long as you are “changing” to same cost plan they don’t charge a fee. The rollover date will then be the day you do this and they refund whatever was left from current month. I make a habit of checking their site regularly in case they up the allowances.

Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at 4:50 PMYou can change your plan to that plan and your billing cycle will be restarted from the day you start your new plan (doesn’t matter it’s a downgrade or upgrade).
Even better, TPG will refund some money (ie. if you change plan when you’re 1 week into your month, they will repay you 3 weeks, doesn’t matter if you have used all your quota or not, which is very good of them.

Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at 3:30 PMI just signed up for the Naked ADSL2+ 200GB, which was $59.99/month. I can’t seem to upgrade to the same cost plan that’s unlimited. I’m pissed.
Should I call them?
Dave
Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at 4:33 PMIf you just signed up, you cant change down until your contract period is up. Also the Naked plans have not changed, these are only for ADSL2+ plans where you also need a land line.

Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at 4:44 PMNaked Plans are different to standard ADSL 2+ plans, doesn’t look like they have updated their naked plans (yet). However I did notice they no longer count uploads.
Looking at my account details, the upload meter is no longer there so this also aplies to people that haven’t upgraded to the ‘new’ 200GB plan

Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at 3:49 PMthe best deal I’ve seen on TPG is still the 200GB (no on or off peak limits) plan for 49.99, with shaping speed of 1Mbps. Browsing is simply not affected by the shaping, and if you have downloaded 200GB in a month, you can afford to wait a week or so till it resets.

Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at 3:52 PMunlike before, uploads aren’t counted either. good change imo esp if you don’t mind the reduced shaped speed on the highest plan

Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at 10:26 PMMy rollover date was literally today. Do you reckon thats close enough for the update?
