Google+ is hot, hot, hot. According to ComScore, the social network has pulled in 20 million unique visitors in a mere three weeks. Leading the way is the US with 5 million and India with 2.8 million uniques.
It’ll be interesting to see if Google can expand the service fast enough to keep up this momentum. I’m rooting for the Big G to succeed. I like chatting it up in 140 characters or more and Google+ is just so light, fresh and fun. It’s like Happy Hour all day long. [WSJ]

I’ll bet 19 million signed up to have a look around but won’t be back. Unless google+ can find a niche the way twitter has become an information broadcaster and Facebook a way of keeping in touch it will never catch on

Saturday, July 23, 2011 at 1:18 PMEvan, it doesn’t need a niche – it just has to be a good viable alternative to FB with a few features FB doesn’t have, and a few features it does better than FB. That’s all. Not hard really.
Remember that FB has done all the hard work ‘testing’ the market, so now Google is taking advantage of it with a new fresh approach. FB can’t, its stuck with its old original model and can’t change easily.
Expect a lot of people to move to Plus and leave FB for the teenage & youth market.

Saturday, July 23, 2011 at 12:20 AMYou’re telling me.. I know of a few people who have received invites but never bothered to register.. Can’t edit profile name via phone application, can’t delete Huddle conversations, no direct messaging (wall?).. the list goes on and on and on and on..

Monday, July 25, 2011 at 9:37 AMLol when facebook first started, it didnt have as many users as Google+ did within a matter of weeks of release. And yet people are still complaining its lonely in there when its still in the Beta stage with restricted invites. It will take a bit of time for all the friends and invites to spread around. Dont expect new trends to just take the masses by storm. Give it 12 months to see if it really is a success or failure. Lets not jump the gun.
