Future For Print: Store Made With 1800 Copies Of New York Times

Newspapers! They’ve finally found their purpose in our digital age! And it’s to be… building bricks for retail kiosks. 1800 issues of the New York Times will clad this kiosk located in Grand Central Terminal in New York City.

The kiosk was designed by Aesop, a skin-care company, and I’m guessing the sight of raggedly grey newspapers will make people want to buy lotion? It just might! I feel my hands getting dry just looking at the pictures. To be honest though, I think the design of the kiosk looks great. The blocks that frame Aesop’s kiosk looks like a cross between concrete and wood, solid and prickly all at the same time. [Aesop via Co.Design]
